Contracted by Dublin Port Company, Keating's design team played a crucial role in this project. This was the first project delivered by the newly established Engineering team. Their input added significant quality and savings in programme for the client resulting in the full detailed design and Construction being delivered in an impressive 10 months.
Delivery of the design included management of six detailed design consultants under various engineering disciplines as well as the development of over thirty-five bespoke temporary works designs, including precast concrete, piling frames, single sided trench boxes, traffic management etc. We conducted optioneering studies, a site investigation and contamination management plans, and monitored testing regimes.
The completed project consisted of 165m of secant piled combi-quay wall, and included 2 linkspan bankseats. It was delivered under a NEC3 contract through a design and build commission and consisted of treatment and disposal by sea of contaminated waste, installation of tubular piles in Dublin boulder clay, installation of 30m deep raking ground anchors in Dublin boulder clay and several other features.
